Two of my favorite things in the world are classic automobiles and vintage motorcycles. And when you combine them both into one event… well, that’s a pretty good day. Today I made my way to The Factory in Franklin, Tennessee for the 27th Annual Antique & Classic Car Show, sponsored by the Battlefield Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. But it get’s better… this years show was held in conjunction with the Music City Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America. That’s right… a beautiful day filled with classic automobiles and vintage motorcycles…. all in the same place. I could go on about how heavenly that is, but I’ll just shut up and let you enjoy some of my photos.
Streetside Classics opened their Nashville showroom several weeks ago but today they made it official by hosting their grand opening car show. Nashville is the fifth location for the Charlotte, NC. based business. Other locations include Atlanta, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Tampa. Specializing in consignment, purchase, and the sale of classic and collectible cars, the Nashville showroom (as well as the other four locations) keeps a literal warehouse full of inventory and will ship worldwide. Enjoy my photos from the show and check out Streetside Classics on-line at www.streetsideclassics.com.
After an awesome group ride with 18 friends this morning… some of us made our way to a local Bike Show. It was the first bike show of the year for me and I had a blast. Here are just a few pics.
OK… so this is becoming sport for me now. Not long ago I was driving down the interstate and saw an interesting motorcycle . I grabbed my Canon SD1000 point-and-shoot, snapped a quick one and didn’t think much about it until later when I looked to see that it actually came out pretty cool. I was hooked!
I spend so much of my time in a studio in controlled lighting situations, shooting still product that the challenge of getting a decent shot of a moving object, in a split second, with a cheap camera, in unpredictable lighting conditions… all through a windshield without using a viewfinder… has become an obsession! Well, obsession may be a bit strong but it is a ton of fun! Here is my latest capture.
My friends over at Bost Harley-Davidson in Nashville got one of the new Iron 883’s in today so I ran over to check it out on my lunch break. Like I said in my RANT on January 28th this thing is really cool. The first thing that hit me was the “blacked-out” vibe this bike has. Pictures don’t really capture the flat-black-rat-bob vibe that is so in your face. The other thing is that the bike has a really low feel to it. I tell ya… if this thing had some wrapped pipes and 15″ apes, it just might be the perfect modern-day, old-school bobber. Click the link below to check out the pics I took.
One of the only things I like about January… is the annual Music City Bike Show held here in Nashville. The 2009 show is this weekend and today I made my way to the Tennessee State Fairgrounds to check it out. All I can say is…. Aghhhhhhhh! It was just what I needed to help beat some of these “Dark Month” blues I’ve been suffering from. Wall to wall bikes, lots of Bikers and tons of fun! Of course, I took the Canon point-and-shoot and got some pics. A couple are posted in this RANT (along with a video) but if you want to see a lot more… CLICK HERE NOW!
Several of you have been asking where the old PICS page went. Well, it kind of got lost in the shuffle but I just added it to the links in the right column. Look for SWAG’s LINKS and then PICTURE ARCHIVE. The “oldies” are there and I will be updating on a regular basis so check back often.
